Kathleen says the 'Friends' cast was cliquey & coulda been sweeter, probably to everyone.

I don't know what's gotten into Kathleen Turner but she's sharing some specific details about her many work experiences. Have you ever worked at a place that you felt had a lot of cliques and found it hard to break through -- not only to get things done, but also to make friends at the office? If yes, you can probably relate to what Kathleen said about her experience on the set of Friends.

"I didn't feel very welcomed by [them> . . . [They> were such a clique.  But I don't think my experience with them was unique. I think it was simply that they were such a tight little group that nobody from the outside mattered."

Ouch. On the one hand this isn't hard to imagine since they were all close and sharing a special experience, but you also have to wonder if the cast would agree. Kathleen Turner is an iconic actress who's worked with some of the very best in the industry and perhaps having someone like that on the set of your sitcom is a little intimidating. Or, did they think she wasn't very friendly and they were just following her lead? Or, were they actually closed off to outsiders and didn't really realize it? Everyone's perspective is usually a little different.

But if you've ever entered a workplace where people have worked well together for some years, you know that it is difficult to feel embraced and comfortable straight out of the gate. It takes time to see if you'll fit in with the culture of your new workplace or if you'll stand out for not learning quickly, making things harder on everyone.

Kathleen's full interview with Vulture is not a disappointment if you want to give it a read. She covers lots of topics and doesn't hold back. At all.
