This is the last movie he's ever going to act in.

He could always change his mind, but Robert Redford says he is now done with acting at the age of 81. His last film is The Old Man and The Gun and it co-stars Sissy Spacek. It's based on the true story of Forrest Tucker who escaped from prison at 70 years of age, then planned and executed several heists while eluding the cops and charming the public. It looks gooooood.

"You're never right where you're supposed to be."  If you've read any Caroline Myss you probably know she says the exact opposite --- 'wherever you are is right where you're supposed to be' --- meaning, I think, that you're learning the lessons you need to move on and once you've learned them you get to move ahead, but not before. Looks like a fun little movie. Redford says he wants 'to go out with something's that's very upbeat and positive.' But let's hope he'll come back some other time when we least expect it.

If you've never seen Inside Daisy Clover you really should. It's not his best known film and stars more of Natalie Wood than Redford but it's a fantastic film with an incredible cast. If you can't get your sweetheart to watch it with you make it a marathon with Three Days of the Condor and then there's something for everyone (you'll also love Three Days of the Condor but he doesn't need to know that).

I found this behind-the-scenes footage shot in 8mm by co-star Roddy McDowal when they were making Inside Daisy Clover and it's wonderful!
