A Win/ Win for everyone this Summer! Here are some tips on just how to accomplish this Awesome 1THING for Austin & Mama Earth!

How to Throw a Zero Waste Picnic

Buy Your Goodies in Bulk

  • Bring reusable organic cotton produce bags to the store and head to the bulk station. Get easy snack such as trail mix, dried fruits and granola. Not-so -Messy fresh fruits & veggies like carrots, celery, dates bananas, apples and organges. Store food in jars & metal tins. Ones you can reuse that are at home.

Bring Your Own Water Bottle

  • US has more than 38 billion water bottles that end up as waste each year. Bring your water bottle and others filled w/ yummy liquids such as lemonade, teas and water.

Bring Your Own Utensils

  • Enough paper & plastic utensils are thrown away each year to circle the Earth's equator 300 times. Reusing & recycling of them are very low, so they end up in landfills and water bodies. Stop w/ the single use plates, cups & utensils. Bring reusable utensils (plates, cups). Stop the waste of paper & plastic cluttering up Mama Earth!

Bring an Empty Jar for Compost & Recyclables

  • Bringing fresh produce  then you will probably have compostable waste. Bring an empty jar for storage, and reusable bags for items that can be reused / recycled. Be post-picnic ready.

Make Friends with Ecofriendly Products

  • Waste from our products does a lot of harm to Mama Earth. Such as sunscreen. It protects you from UVA & UVB rays, but many sunscreens have harmful ingredients that hurts ocean health and our own. Make the switch to eco-friendly & health-friendly alternative products.
