Easter Weekend 2019 is also the kickoff of National Park Week, which goes from April 20 - April 28th. National Park Service is kicking the week off on Saturday (4/20) opening the National Parks for  all to enjoy for FREE!  Services like campground or bike rentals will not be waived.

Why do many National Parks have admission fees?

  • As visitors grow in numbers due to the popularity of our beautiful natural treasures, it takes more money to protect it and keep it beautiful. Government funding is limited for necessities such as road & building repairs, campground maintenance, visitor protection, resource protection and more that must be covered w/ the higher demand of visitors each year.

Days during 2019 National Parks are Free:

  • January 21: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
  • April 20: First day of National Park Week
  • August 25: National Park Service Birthday
  • September 28: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11: Veterans Day
