Whether it's Valentine's Day, Spring coming and  Summer Lovin'  these times of a year are packed with weddings. In 2019, many weddings will have an eco-friendly theme built in them. It's a perfect time to start your life w/ your Boo showing Love to Mama Earth too. There are many eco-friendly 1THINGS you can do to make your day w/ your Boo a special one!  #1THINGs can be Romantic too!

The Knot's Eco-Friendly Wedding Guide:

Wedding / Reception Venue: Holding the ceremony & reception in one place cuts back on fuel emissions. There are many beautiful botanical gardens, hilltops and refurbished barns and more to choose from. If you're thinking an indoor wedding, a venue that gets lots of sunlight, and having a daytime wedding so the lights can be off, will save on energy. Look & Feel Awesome too!  Needing hotels, go for ones that recycle and eco-friendly.

Stationary / Invites: Millions of trees are cut down to make paper products. The more eco-conscious your invite choices the better. Save- the-dates can be paperless. Mailing invites don' t have an insert and use ones made out of recycled paper products with vegetable- based inks.

Flowers: Go organic ... Look for farm-to-table companies. Ask about in-season and local flowers. Work w/ a company that will pick up the arrangements and reuse them. Not into flowers. Use fruits & veggies you can eat later. Use the arrangements during the reception too!

Catering : Organic farm-to-table / local is Awesome! It may cost more, but asking your caterer to source from in-season, locally-grown products will help keep the cost down and guarantee fresh finds. Do the same w/ the baker. The shorter distance food is coming, less fuel needed to transport. Table decorations can be with herb plants that the guests can use in their meals.

Wedding Dress:  Eco-friendly dress shopping is re-wearing ... your mom's or a close family member's dress. A seamstress could make it more you. Check out vintage clothing shop / boutiques and websites w/ buy or rent pre-worn dresses. The bridal party can wear what they already have, or rent dresses & suits / tuxes.  If you want a new dress, find a designer who uses sustainable fabrics (organic cotton, silk or hemp).

Favors: Plantable favors like saplings and herbs are good gifts. Making a charity donation in their honor. Planting a tree in their honor.

Registry: If you're in need of home goods, consider items like organic bedding, cloth shopping bags, reusable bamboo plates ... Donations to green organizations or having a tree planted in your names. Another idea is a gift / donation towards your honeymoon fund. This is a popular one.  Eco-Friendly honeymoon ideas
